Downtime Today

unfortunatly I had some downtime today due to some network issues experiance by mt network provider. I don't have any more details yet but have been assured I will be sent an e-mail tomorrow detailing the problem and steps taken to resolve it.

Regarding the outage yesterday, the problem first started at approx 12.30pm with large amounts of data being transferred onto the Network from outside sources. This caused routers to slow down and become non-responsive. Routers were taken off line, filter rules where built to drop unwanted packets. Telecity also conducted a continuity test on the links which took approx 1 hour to complete.

With the help of Telecity Engineers and our Support Team, we managed to resume service at approx 16:00. We are still investing the origin of the attacks.
