Sorry Simon, I havent check this forum for sometime and didnt realise you had posted a message. The association is aware of the rat problem and have raised a number of concerns with the local council. All I can really say at this time, is watch this space.

Noticed in the local press that Berko are considering feral cats to deal with the rats and doing the same in Duckmore.
Not sure if I like that idea - there are enough cats about already. Also i've never heard of a cat that will specifically go for rats!
A better scheme is to not to make allotments rat friendly with mounds of rubbish and old carpet.
